The City’s fee

The City charges its own permit fee when you apply, and you pay it to the City, not to us. A deck permit is $95 in Kitchener and $132 in Waterloo.

When do I pay?

Only when you’re ready to apply. Designing, changing it and the permit answer are free, so you know whether you need a permit before you pay anything.

Is the City’s permit fee included?

No. Your City’s permit fee is separate. You pay it to the City when you apply, not to us (a deck in Kitchener is $95).

Can I see my drawings before I pay?

Yes. Your whole drawing set and the filled forms open free as a marked preview, so you can check every sheet. The $79 removes the PREVIEW mark and adds the files your City asks you to upload.

What counts as one project?

One kind of project at one address, like a deck at your home. A fence at the same address is a second project.

What if the City asks for changes?

Add the City’s comments to your project, change the design and download the new drawings. Revisions are unlimited for that project, so there’s nothing more to pay.

Is there a free trial for pros?

Yes. Pro is free for 7 days with everything included, clean downloads too. No card needed; add one before day 7 to keep Pro, or it simply ends. One trial per company.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, in full, if you ask before you download your project’s package. After that, we refund billing mistakes, and any purchase we can’t deliver because of a problem on our side.
